Louise Alexander Gallery/AFP, in collaboration with Fellowship, is delighted to present a showcase at Paris Photo 2023. This exhibition is a testament to the groundbreaking fusion of photography, video, and AI, redefining the boundaries of visual art.

 

This year, the exhibition prominently features esteemed photographers who have embraced innovation, merging tradition with the transformative power of technology.

Among its lineup are Alkan Avcıoğlu, recognised for his use of AI post-photography to comment on the contemporary human experience; Elman Mansimov, offering a glimpse into a pivotal moment in AI art’s history and the transformative potential of text-to-image AI; Joel Meyerowitz, presenting a decade-long visual narrative that unites six decades of his work into one immersive experience; and Laurie Simmons, who will challenge preconceptions with her AI-driven image generators.

Additional artists include Yatreda, who will showcase African culture’s richness and resilience through the art of hair; Roope Rainisto, renowned for reshaping cultural perspectives through AI-generated imagery; and Simon Raion, known for his thought-provoking scenes that defy conventional roles and perceptions.

With a mission to connect past and present to shape the future of art - Fellowship harnesses blockchain technology to celebrate contemporary artists and embrace the transformative power of artificial intelligence (AI). Elman Mansimov, alignDRAW (2015)

Elman Mansimov's "alignDRAW" collection showcases artworks generated from text prompts using groundbreaking AI technology. These unique pieces capture the essence of their prompts in thought-provoking ways, offering a glimpse into the intersection of art and technology.

 

Joel Meyerowitz, Sequels: One Image, Every Day, for a Decade

Joel Meyerowitz presents "Sequels," a pioneering exploration of photography and blockchain technology that unites six decades of his work into a decade-long narrative. This interactive exhibition promises a new image every day for ten years, inviting viewers to engage with Meyerowitz's evolving story.

 

Laurie Simmons, In and Around the House II (2023)

Laurie Simmons explores the intriguing intersection of language and images, highlighting the potential of AI-driven image generators. Her work challenges preconceptions about AI's impact on art, showcasing the creative possibilities of this technology.

 

Roope Rainisto, REWORLD (2023)

Roope Rainisto delves into society's complexities using AI-generated images, offering a thought-provoking perspective on individual identities and cultural interplay. "REWORLD" reflects our tech-centric epoch and pushes artistic boundaries.

 

Simon Raion, Pink. Unidentified. Such a Useless Color! (2023)

Simon Raion's photographs create a sense of intrigue and distance, confronting viewers with scenes that challenge traditional roles and perceptions. His work draws inspiration from various artistic influences, resulting in a captivating and thought-provoking collection.

Yatreda, Strong Hair, Mosaic: ጠንካራ ፀጉር ሞዛይክ (2023)

 

Yatreda pays tribute to the richness and resilience of African culture through the art of hair. This collection features 21 unique hairstyles, each carrying profound social and cultural messages, emphasising the importance of preserving and reviving these styles.
