Overview

Louise Alexander Gallery, in collaboration with Fellowship and Gallery FUMI, is pleased to present ALL BUT HUMAN, opening on 27 March at Gallery FUMI in Mayfair.

This exhibition explores the intersection of human creativity and artificial intelligence, showcasing two distinct yet interconnected creative processes: one rooted in material craftsmanship, the other emerging from AI and machine-generated art.

The exhibition features Roope Rainisto’s REWORLD series, which examines identity, perception, and possibility in an AI-driven era. Using AI-generated imagery, Rainisto explores alternative realities and the blurred boundaries between self and society, raising questions about individuality in a technology-driven world.

Alongside, Gallery FUMI presents handcrafted works by Charlotte Kingsnorth, Max Lamb, and Tuomas Markunpoika, highlighting the human touch, materiality, and imperfection. Their pieces challenge the boundaries between the organic and artificial, the handmade and industrial, permanence and ephemerality.

Together, these two perspectives form a dialogue about craft, technology, and creativity in contemporary art. Rather than opposing forces, AI and craft coexist, each expanding the possibilities for artistic expression and reshaping our understanding of authorship and artistic intention.

ALL BUT HUMAN invites reflection on how digital and physical creations interact and reframe the landscape of contemporary art.
